Our client is a long-established and well-respected specialist asset management firm, with a multi-billion-dollar AUM.

The business has a strong track record in Small & Mid-Cap Equity investing, and after further successful capital-raising, is now seeking to hire an additional Investment Analyst to cover this field.

THE ROLE:

The role will report directly to the Head of Global Small & Mid-Cap Equities, and will sit within a tight-knit, collaborative and highly experienced team of investment professionals. This division runs three funds, totalling several billion dollars in AUM, and employs a firm sustainability / environmental and social governance (ESG) overlay in their decision-making.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying Small and Mid-Cap companies globally as potential targets for equity investments.
  • Analysis of sustainability / ESG drivers, both pertinent to individual companies and in a broader capacity
  • Undertaking detailed qualitative and quantitative company analysis.
  • Conducting in-depth management meetings with board-level members of target companies.
  • Participation in team-wide investment discussions.
  • Assisting with ad hoc projects for the team, such as strategic / economic / thematic research and developing fund materials.

THE BACKGROUND:

  • 2 to 4 years spent in financial services, including experience in equity analysis on either the buy-side or sell-side
  • Detailed knowledge of equity markets, and specifically the Small and Mid-Cap arena.
  • Excellent aptitude for modelling, including the ability to build DCFs from scratch.
  • An affinity for and understanding of ESG / sustainability concepts and factors.
  • Prior experience of active participation in meetings with senior company management.
  • Superb academic pedigree, and ideally the CFA qualification.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • An enthusiastic, diligent and down-to-earth attitude, suited to working in a collegiate team environment.
