Functional Overview   
 
The role is part of Nomura's Asian Equity Research platform. Led by the local Head, the Malaysian Equity Research analysts cover stocks and sectors focused on Malaysia and also ASEAN, depending on sector scope.

 
Job description   
 
•Identify the trends, the competitive landscape, the evolving content and services, as well as differentiate investment opportunities in Malaysia, with a focus on Small and Mid-cap with technology focus. Depending on candidates, we are willing to be flexible with current sector coverage.
•Support extensive financial modelling, analysis and collection of information of covered companies.
•Analyse macroeconomics factors & industry trends.
•Prepare research reports.
•Handle client questions and inquiries.
•Market research ideas internationally.

 
Key Experience & Skills   
 
•Bachelor or MBA degree in Business, Finance, Accounting Computer science, Electronics engineering. CFA charter-holder status or similar professional certification is an added advantage.
•Min. 3-7 years relevant working experience in SEA equity research industry, genuinely interested in a country coverage. role with excellent and well-structured written and verbal communication skills required.
•Experience in covering the Tech sector is not a requirement, but an interest and affinity for the sector would be an advantage.
•Some experience in covering commodity cyclicals would be welcome.
•Native or professional proficiency in English necessary. Proficiency in Bahasa is an added advantage but not a must.
•Quick learner with an ability to work well under pressure.
•Proactive & hard working with strong professional accountability.
