Overall purpose of role

The candidate would be part of a team of high performing professionals as part of the STG US execution team whose primary responsibility is to assist with the development and restructuring of complex and challenging transactions comprising the US STG business and lead/assist with the documentation and closing thereof.

It is expected that the execution team would work on the ongoing development and execution of trades from a tax, accounting and regulatory capital perspective, covering areas from structural reform and internal restructurings to client activity. Each team member must possess outstanding abilities to execute compled structured transactions, as well as strong skills in US tax, accounting and regulatory matters, the intellectual flexibility to quickly retool in a time of rapid change, a data-driven approach to problem solving, and strong communication skills.

Person Specification
Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:

* Undergraduate Degree
* 3 + years working in a transactional, structured finance team, within an investment bank, law firm or similar organization

Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:

* CFA / ACA/ ACCA or equivalent accreditation or experience
* Strong US Tax technical skills
* Accounting proficiency strongly preferred
* Experience managing / reviewing legal documentation process
* Experience negotiating with third parties preferred
Knowledge of UK / US or Luxembourg tax law;
* Experience of driving programmes across departments (finance, IT, risk, ops);
* Extensive execution experience across fixed income products, proven ability to execute through challenging conditions;
* Consistently contributes to discussions on technical matters (tax, accounting, regulatory, etc).
* Ability to lead groups under high pressure and fluid situations
* Capability to solve problems logically with the creative use of available resources
* Time management and capability to work independently on a number of priorities, capability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
* Good understanding of Investment Banking businesses and activities
* Financial modelling and analysis skills
* Strong quantitative / numeracy skill set
* An analytical mindset coupled with the inclination to run and improve a rigorous process
* Self starter and team player, with a proven ability to interact at a wide range of levels in- and outside their own team
* Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
