INVESTMENT OFFICER

Salary Range:  $160,404 - $194,964 Annually

The Contra Costa County Employees’ Retirement Association (CCCERA) located in Concord, California is offering an excellent career opportunity for an Investment Officer to provide analytical and technical support for the CCCERA investment program by researching investment data and information and formulating asset manager recommendations. CCCERA is a contributory defined benefit pension plan covering the employees of Contra Costa County and other participating agencies and is governed by a twelve member Board of Retirement.

CCCERA is looking to hire qualified candidates who would join the CCCERA Investment Team to concentrate on one of three areas: growth private markets, growth public markets and diversifying assets, and liquidity program and operations. The initial focus is to find an Investment Officer with private markets expertise (private equity, private credit, opportunistic and value-add real estate). The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with the ability to effectively work within the collaborative and open communication style of the CCCERA Investment Team environment and successfully establish direct relationships with asset managers.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of institutional investment methodologies as they apply to public pension plans; asset allocation and asset liability designs; advanced financial modeling; the behavior of pension liabilities with changes in interest rates, inflation and capital markets; public security markets such as fixed income and public equities; and economic and market conditions and trends and their effect on short-term and long-term investment programs and strategies. The position is expected to uphold the highest level of integrity and professionalism, and system efficiency.
