Head, Continuing Professional Development Competencies
The Head, Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Competencies, leads a four-member team that plays a critical role in facilitating an output-based approach to lifelong learning experience (which focuses on demonstrated learning rather than the quantity of CPD undertaken) for CFA Institute members.
The Head will:
Contribute to developing a vision for CPD by designing and maintaining an integrated competency framework delivered to members on digital platform designed and implemented by the Member Value strategic function. This global role is jointly responsible with Head, CPD Product Delivery for developing and executing a single business plan to both identify practitioner need within a competency framework in collaboration with Credentialing, Member Value, and the regions.
Design professional development learning paths that support career progression through core job roles within a competency framework that is integrated into the CFA Program and based on early, mid-, and late career learning needs analysis.
Manage quality assurance (e.g., sourcing guidelines, audit) for CPD content matched to competencies by the Member Value strategic function and provide product specifications for a digital platform developed by the Member Value strategic function. The learning paths will extend competencies developed in the CFA program, emphasize content curation over creation, and leverage existing CFA Institute content, such as CFA Program Refresher Readings, Financial Analyst Journal articles, CFA Institute Research Foundation monographs, and conference webcasts.
The successful fulfillment of these objectives will provide CFA Institute members and other investment management practitioners an efficient and effective guide to CPD resources based on their current and/or anticipated job roles.
The position will be based in Charlottesville, London, New York or Hong Kong and will be led by the Managing Director, Credentialing.
Key qualifications for this role include:
- CFA charter is required
- Minimum 15 years’ experience, including recent experience, in the financial services industry.
- Significant experience managing teams.
- Significant experience in, serving or covering the institutional investment management in a multinational environment preferred
- Working knowledge of continuing education learning programs, preferably in the financial services industry
- A global network (or ability to develop a network) of content experts from practice and academia
