Position Summary:

The Finance Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the company meets its reporting and financial operating requirements in an effective and efficient manner. The position directly reports to the CEO/Portfolio Manager.  

  • Investment Operations:

The Finance Manager will have to conduct all the middle and back office investment operations with a primary focus on:

  • Managing trade orders on all types of financial assets in coordination with the Portfolio Manager
  • Ensuring that all trade transactions are settled and reconciled according to regulatory and control requirements
  • Keeping track of all corporate actions, recording and reporting of daily transactions
  • Liaising with banks on cash management activities and all treasury matters
  • Coordinating with banks, custodians and brokers in order to manage the operations in a timely and efficient manner


In line with strategy, the Finance Manager will mainly have the following responsibilities:

  • Managing financial accounting and performance reporting systems
  • Overseeing and training the finance team on day to day functions: investment accounting, bookkeeping, reconciliations, maintenance of the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll
  • Developing external relationships with appropriate contacts (custodian, banks and brokers)
  • Establishing and maintaining adequate financial and accounting policies and procedures for the company. Ensuring that the Company operates with sound internal control procedures
  • Providing assistance in the valuation and monitoring of company’s financial assets
  • Liaising with auditors to complete the annual audited financial statements of the company and resolve all audit and accounting related matters
  • Establishing budget and forecast guidelines, and preparing the annual budget in consultation with the Board of Directors and the Executives
  • Ensuring that the company has a sound liquidity management policy taking into consideration all relevant factors, i.e. capital commitment and forecast cash flow 
  • Presenting periodic financial reports to Board of Directors, Executives and shareholders
  • Advising on appropriate technology, accounting software or reporting system that meets the company information and financial reporting requirements

Other Requirements:

In addition to professional qualifications, the Finance Manager should demonstrate competency in the following:

  • Behaving ethically, understanding ethical behavior and business practices and aligning with the values of the company
  • Demonstrating good leadership in supervising a team of employees, providing guidance and resolving issues from time to time
  • Assessing situations to determine urgency and risks, and making clear decisions in the company’s best interests
  • Setting priorities, developing a work schedule and monitoring progress towards goals
  • Working cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness

Experience & Qualifications

  • More than 10 years in a similar role or job function
  • >5 years in an Investment Accounting & Investment Operations role
  • >5 years in a reputable Financial Institution
  • Familiarity with different asset classes (Public/Private Equity, Fixed Income, Real Estate, Hedge Funds)
  • Basic Understanding of Derivative Instruments
  • Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business

Preferably with CPA, CFA or ACA/CA Certifications
