Sr Business Analyst –Planning and Analysis

This position will be in the Firm Analytics area, primarily supporting the CSG Division (Client Strategies Group) which includes Products & Services, Marketing, Capital Markets and Client Solutions areas.  A successful individual in this position will possess an intellectual curiosity which enables them to understand key drivers of the full service brokerage business, continuously looking for opportunities that align with the Firm's Mission and support its Core Strategies. Coupled with intellectual curiosity will be the conviction and drive to initiate projects and see them through to successful completion. This position will have the opportunity to have an impact on the Firm's solutions and products strategy.

Responsibility Summary:

The Senior Analyst will work on a variety of projects for the division, with their responsibilities typically including the following:
     * Concept development, interpretation and application of advanced financial analysis, forecasting, and complex financial modeling to enhance decision making for division leaders and executive-level management
     * Proactively identify innovative revenue, cost reduction and efficiency improvement opportunities with moderate to broad impact and visibility, propose solutions to relevant parties and drive implementation of solutions
     * Creation and delivery of frequent verbal and written presentation of firm financial information and financial insights to senior Firm leaders
     * Develop and manage business relationships with senior leaders and executive-level management across the organization
     * Inform and educate other business areas as to the financial impact of business decisions, as well as recommending an optimal or preferred solution to influence strategic direction; deliver original insights on opportunities for enhancing Firm performance
     * Concept development of customized executive-level management financial reports; review and provide feedback on reporting prepared by other associates
     * Develop divisional and Firm-level reporting and measurements to create awareness of and accountability for results
     * Participate in and frequently lead cross-functional teams responsible for implementing projects in support of divisional or firm-wide business objectives
     * Educate associates and leaders across the firm on financial concepts and best practices
     * Take constructive action with little or no direction from others

Qualifications Required in the Job:
     * Bachelor's degree is required with emphasis in Accounting, Finance, or Economics strongly preferred (or relevant work experience)
     * CPA/International country equivalent or MBA preferred
     * 7+ years of relevant work experience
     * Negotiation experience is a plus
     * Leadership experience is a plus

Functional/Technical Qualifications:
     * Ability to prioritize and execute on multiple tasks/projects and independently adjust to changing priorities
     * Ability to influence associates and leadership up to the Executive Management level using verbal, written, and presentation skills
     * Ability to summarize complex financial information and concepts and clearly communicate to executive-level Firm leadership
     * Advanced financial analysis, forecasting, and complex financial modeling skills, such as sensitivity analysis incorporating multiple variables and financial analysis of business decision alternatives
     * Works effectively both independently and in a team environment
     * Intermediate to advanced understanding of accounting processes and financial statements required
     * Proficiency using PeopleSoft Financials is a plus
     * Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint required including working ability to utilize pivot tables, advanced charting, advanced formulas, and conditional formatting
     * Industry and best practice research skills preferred
     * Intermediate project management skills a plus
