Wealth and Investment Management (WIM) is one of the company's four main divisions. WIM businesses build enduring client relationships through sound, thoughtful and objective advice. Wealth Management (WM): Wealth Management business is a leading provider of financial services to high net worth (HNW) and ultra-high net worth (UHNW) clients through Wells Fargo Private Bank (TPB), and to the affluent segment through partnerships between Wealth Brokerage Services and the Community Bank. In Wealth Management, clients are provided with a complete range of solutions to help them manage, preserve and transfer their wealth

The Alternative Investment Consultant provides alternative investment solutions to Wealth Management Investment Strategists/Wells Fargo Advisors' Financial Advisors (Investment Professionals) in a consultative internal desk environment. The individual is responsible for a specific geographic territory and will work in partnership with an external Regional Alternative Investment Consultant to drive adoption of Alternative Investments through consultative selling. The Alternative Investment Consultant will prospect and qualify Investment Professionals as to their interest and ability to do business in Alternative Investments. The offerings cover an array of asset classes: hedge funds, managed futures, commodities, real estate and private equity.

Through ongoing telephone contact with Investment Professionals from their territory, this individual will provide customized alternative investment solutions and research information for their clients. The goal is to develop a consultative relationship with the Investment Professionals who have Accredited and Super Accredited clients who can benefit from investments in Alternative Investments. They will explain complex investment products, topics or issues in easy to understand conversational language. Frequently, they will need to be the Alternative Investment expert for an Investment Professional in a client conference call. They will resolve client or Investment Professionals issues. They will occasionally need to travel in the territory and meet with Investment Professionals and clients. This position participates in a sales incentive compensation plan.

This position is only available in Charlotte, NC. Relocation assistance is not available.

Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in financial services or in alternative investments
  • Series 7 and 63 or equivalent licenses required or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire

Desired Qualifications
  • 3+ years of brokerage or wealth management experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • 3+ years of financial services sales experience
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation or demonstrated progress toward the designation
