Position Description

PIMCO is seeking to recruit a US Securitized Products Analyst to join the team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and working with the existing team to analyze a broad range of sectors within the securitized products universe, including but not limited to opportunities in Asset Backed Securities (ABS), Collateralized Loan Obligations (CLOs), and Residential and Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities (RMBS and CMBS). The ideal candidate will initially focus on contributing to the team by analyzing market opportunities, making investment recommendations, and maintaining surveillance of positions in existing portfolios; over time the candidate will have the potential to take on primary trading and portfolio management responsibilities.
Major Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain expert knowledge in securitized products markets
  • Make investment recommendations in new opportunities, and execute / direct trades to achieve those objectives
  • Manage surveillance of existing securitized products investments in portfolios
  • Contribute to the broader PIMCO investment process by contributing relevant market color and independent analysis/research
  • Work with analytics and quant resources to maintain and develop models and portfolio management applications
  • Source and manage sell-side relationships
  • Trade execution
  • Vendor management, including servicers, trustees, collateral managers, rating agencies
  • Support existing client franchise by working with account managers to update existing clients on market conditions, philosophy, process and performance

Position Requirements

The ideal candidate will have :
  • 2 years of securitized products / structured credit buy-side or sell-side experience, or fixed income structuring / banking experience
  • Prior experience with trading, transaction due diligence, surveillance, and management of third-party relationships (issuers, syndicate, rating agencies, etc)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong client facing skills and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • MBA and/or CFA a plus, but not required

  • Ability to develop thoughtful investment / trading strategies for specific objectives across varying portfolio goals
  • Ability to work across the organization with Portfolio Managers, Credit Research Analysts and Account Managers in a collaborative manner
  • Manage the flow of information from the markets to internal constituencies. Manage external trading relationships to PIMCO's advantage
  • Effective client presentation skills; ability to articulate PIMCO philosophy and process and support new business franchise
