High Grade Research Associate Analyst - Industrials

We have an opportunity for a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual with excellent analytical and writing skills to join Wells Fargo's Credit Research team, based in Charlotte, NC. In this position you will partner with an Institutional Investor ranked Investment Research Senior Analyst. Specific responsibilities include creating, updating, and maintaining financial models, writing company and industry reports, conducting fundamental research, maintaining and analyzing database information, and communicating with clients, internal constituents and senior management. Strong interpersonal skills are necessary as the person will collaborate across business lines, collect market intelligence from sales and trading and work with a variety of internal and external clients. You will also be responsible for data management, creating prototype analytical financial models, preparation of numerous presentations for institutional investor visits and help with industry conferences. In addition, you will assist in the preparation of our credit research publications. They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following, and adhering to and if applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit's risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of capital markets industry experience, financial services industry research experience, or a combination of both

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (finance/economics preferred) and a strong academic record
  • 2+ years experience in the finance industry, ideally within investment banking or research
  • CFA is a plus
  • Modeling experience and formal credit training is preferred
  • The successful candidate will have a high level of personal motivation and strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Sound analytical thinking, high attention to detail and proven writing skills are a must
  • Must be comfortable functioning both independently and as a part of a team, be able to work in a high-energy environment and be able to meet stringent deadlines and work quality standards
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office applications, with an emphasis on Excel and Word
  • Licenses 7 and 63
