Credit Research Associate - Buy Side

Package: £50k to £65k with good bonus and benefits package.

 

We are recruiting for a Credit Research Associate position within a Leading Asset Manager. This position sits within the Fixed Income team and reports directly into the Head of Credit Research, working directly with Portfolio Managers.

 

The candidate will assist Senior Analysts analyse and evaluate company and industry fundamentals and trends in the context of, economic, political, regulatory and capital markets developments in order to contribute to investment decision-making and strategy.

 

Duties and Responsibilities include asssiting Senior Analysts to:

 

1. Provide the Fixed Income Group with coverage of credits in assigned sector (s). Utilise the variety of resources available to monitor current developments affecting such credits/sectors; assesses and communicates their impact. Assume a progressively increasing number of industry sector or subsector responsibilities.

 

2. Make timely and accurate assessments of current and projected credit quality of issuers and maintains an approved list of eligible investments for the money market desk based on local securities regulations and department guidelines.

 

3. Collaborate with trading sector specialists to recommend the purchase and sale of securities in assigned coverage universe. Recommendations incorporate both views on credit fundamentals and relative value as appropriate.

 

4. Contribute to strategic decision making by providing outlooks and actionable recommendations for investment in assigned sector(s).

 

5. Develop and maintain productive relationships with portfolio managers, investment banks, issuers, rating agencies and fellow analysts.

 

 

Although this role is currently flexible in regards to sectors, an understanding of European Industrials and Financials in particular would be beneficial.

 

Our candidate will require: 

-              Graduate degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

-              A minimum of three years analytical experience in the financial industry 

-              A postgraduate qualification of CFA (or studying towards) or MBA is preferred
