The director will provide research and analysis in support of real estate investment activity in the U.S. The director interacts with the US and global research team as well as the product development, portfolio management, and acquisitions teams. The director will be expected to support the current US a global research staff in order to provide our clients with best in class investment strategy. The director is expected to be client-facing and would have the ability to raise their profile in the real estate industry through authoring white papers.


  • Leads economic and real estate research by identifying and collecting data
  • Attends and votes in the investment committees for both equity and commercial mortgage deals
  • Reviews the presentations, white papers, investment committee memos done by junior staff and provides constructive feedback to junior staff
  • Authors white papers for industry leading publications in order help raise the profile of the research team
  • Speaks at industry conferences in order help raise TH's profile
  • Comes up with investment strategies that are used by the business and that drive outperformance
  • Gives presentations to clients and prospective clients that provide them with strategic insight
  • Evaluates local market dynamics and trends by working with key stakeholders in the business in order to create strategic investment recommendations
  • Work with portfolio managers to help guide fund strategy with a focus on performance analytics
  • 30% - 40% of the job requires traveling to regional offices and conferences


  • 5-10 years of real estate investment management experience
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field (real estate, economics, mathematics, finance, urban planning)
  • CFA or master's degree preferred
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Expertise with Excel, access, and powerpoint
  • Familiarity with statistical techniques a plus
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and problem solve
  • Time management and prioritization skills
