As defined by the Group, fraud covers a wide array of improper acts requiring a broad range of expertise to properly prevent, investigate and remediate. Therefore responsibility for day to day management of these fraud classes and their controls lies with the teams with appropriate expertise. In addition to their direct investigation/remediation/prevention/awareness responsibilities the Americas Anti-Fraud Team (AAF Team) is mandated to act as the coordinator of CIB-wide efforts and the conduit for information flow to and from senior management and regulators.

The AAF Team will contribute to the identification of fraud risks and the understanding, development and maintenance of fraud related controls across CIB as requested by the controlling teams or senior management or where the AAF Team deems necessary.

A function of the AAF Team is to act as a facilitator to the various teams which undertake any part of the listed components of managing fraud within CIB. In addition to this role as a facilitator the AAF Team will also undertake all aspects of fraud surveillance, prevention, investigation, awareness and remediation as appropriate across all activities of CIB with a particular focus on capital markets frauds including rogue trading. When necessary the AAF Team may intervene to define, establish and implement controls where there is a need for additional coverage.


• Responsible for the identification and understanding of Fraud risks in the Americas

• Contributes directly to the awareness of fraud risk: by direct and regular presentations to staff, by regular interaction with operations, business and management and through the development and monitoring of an Anti-Fraud awareness program in the Americas

• Responsible for exploring and defining fraud prevention initiatives and execution of fraud risk assessments

• Responsible for handling and tracking of fraud situations & suspicions, internal and external, and monitoring remediation projects implemented in response to identified fraud risks

• Co-ordinate with various stakeholders across the organization (Compliance, Corporate Security, IT Security, Legal, Human Resources, Inspection Generale, Management, Regulatory Liaison, Operations Risk and Control (ORC)) in the investigation, handling and reporting of fraud suspicions as required

• Co-ordinate with existing fraud correspondents in countries/métiers, e.g. regional ORC officers, in the escalation of fraud suspicions

• Foster a ‘CIB Anti-Fraud community' with the aim of natural collaboration and information sharing between employees working on fraud topics across the different teams.

• Records and analyses investigations, surveillance programs and all sensitive situations which might lead to fraud risk in ARCHER

• Works with IT to develop and/or improve Anti-Fraud tools by providing user requirements and doing UAT

• Contributes to the reporting and analyses of the results of controls performed by the various process in relation to Fraud Prevention

• Contribute to the development of a local Anti-Fraud dashboard to monitor the fraud risk evolution in the Americas

• Investigates and analyses suspicions of fraud and reports with recommended actions to senior management

• Participates to the improvement of business processes considered as sensitive for frauds

• Supports business, functions and countries in researching and developing new controls and tools for Fraud Prevention

• Works in coordination and with the support of CIB Central Anti-Fraud team in Paris and the Global Anti-Fraud team to set-up awareness, investigate on alerts and set-up IT tools

• Contributes to the preparation of the Anti-Fraud periodic committees

• Performs other related tasks assigned by Anti-Fraud and Risk ORC Management Maintain policies and procedures around fraud prevention, investigation, remediation and surveillance for the region.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or Math.

• Able to actively partner and network across various business lines and functions across the organization in the execution of responsibilities

• Proven success in previous working experiences

• Strongly self-motivated and results oriented

• Strong communication and presentation skills

• Detailed oriented and very well organized • Strong Project Management skills

• Able to work independently

• Gravitas and ability to challenge senior stakeholders in a constructive way

• Audit / Investigation experience and mindset

• 5 years minimum experience in Audit, Compliance, Control or Anti-Fraud role

• Knowledge and proficiency with data analysis and visualization tools such as Tableau, Alteryx, Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

• Understanding of Financial Institutions, specifically CIB and Asset Management businesses

• Exposure to Computer / Digital Investigations and Forensics

• Understanding of Cybercrime

• Master Degree or CFA

• Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)

• Fluency in Spanish & Portuguese a plus
