Brevet Capital seeks bright, hard-working analyst candidates with a genuine enthusiasm for investing and finance to join Brevet’s team, focused on various credit opportunities. Analysts will be integral members of deal teams, and will work closely with the senior professionals of the firm to research different sectors of the market, structure and execute transactions, and assist in the management the firm’s investment portfolio. Candidates should be problem solvers and creative thinkers who are not easily discouraged and strive to find solutions even in tough scenarios. Individuals will be given as much responsibility as their experience and growing capabilities permit. Brevet is seeking candidates with 1 to 4 years of prior work experience. Analysts may support teams in Sourcing, Structuring & Underwriting and Risk Management.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth research and analytics on various market sectors or specific opportunities that align with Brevet’s mission and strategy
  • Attend industry conferences and other events/meetings, as necessary, to further research opportunities, learn about current trends in the market, and connect with key industry players
  • Perform fundamental credit analysis and conduct due diligence on potential transactions, including
    • Analysis of organization and capital structure
    • Reviewing legal documents, including contracts and credit documentation
    • Preparing complex quantitative analysis on performance data
    • Building cash flow and valuation models, including various sensitivity and scenario analyses
    • Assessing financial, operating, and bankruptcy/restructuring risks
  • Prepare investment presentations and memoranda to be presented to Investment Committee
  • Monitor, evaluate, and realize upon existing investments
  • Actively participate in risk identification, risk management, and portfolio management
  • Prepare and distribute relevant pipeline reports and department dashboards

Requirements

  • Company due diligence experience
  • Demonstrated excel / financial modeling capabilities
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in Economics, Finance, or a related field
  • Investment banking, private equity, credit analysis or similar experience
  • Private credit or structured finance experience is preferred
