Essential activities:

  • Build and articulate frameworks for analysis at the asset class and strategy level
  • Source, analyze and perform qualitative and quantitative due diligence on new managers and value-added strategies with emphasis on hedge funds
  • Work with manager, internal and external portfolio managers, and external consultants, to assess active risk at the portfolio, asset class and individual strategy level
  • Support strategic moves among portfolios to achieve maximum performance within risk parameters
  • Ensure that manager investment policies are articulated and that operating procedures are in place to ensure that investment policies and guidelines of the Board are followed
  • Assist with the identification, selection, and evaluation of outside money management and consultant resources to complement/supplement internal resources, including new strategies
  • Monitor key operational due diligence activities of outside money managers

 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, math, business, or related required
  • CAIA certification or CFA certification preferred
  • At least 7 years of investment experience primarily with hedge funds
  • Advanced MS Excel skills required
  • FactSet, Riskmetrics, and Bloomberg experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • An ability to be adaptive and thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Superb work ethic, attention to detail, team orientation, and commitment to excellence

The position requires U.S. work authorization and residency in, or willingness to relocate to, the Madison, Wisconsin area. SWIB is prepared to offer relocation assistance as needed.
