POSITION

The Client Service Manager (CSM) is a member of the Client Service Group (CSG) working closely with the Financial Reserves Management team supporting the firm's insurance clients. The successful CSM will understand the client's long term investment objectives, policy issues, and regulatory framework and bring the resources of the organization to bear on behalf of the client with the goal of delivering a high level of service that will exceed the client's expectations and position Wellington Management as the partner of choice.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES

The CSM will work with multiple Relationship and Account Managers and serve in a "COO" type of role to ensure servicing needs are met.  Specific responsibilities would include:
  • Serve as "in-office" presence to ensure client servicing needs are being met, allowing the Relationship and Account Managers to be externally focused 
  • Understand client's asset and liability management objectives that influence their investment and servicing requirements
  • Facilitate resolution of client guideline-related compliance issues. Provide oversight of investment compliance matters that require escalation and analysis/judgment applied
  • Liaise with the client and internal parties to ensure compliance with applicable regulations
  • Prepare for, lead/attend and provide follow-up on client meetings and inquiries
  • Provide oversight and respond to ad hoc requests
  • Partner with other functional areas to address client issues, concerns, and opportunities
  • Manage the client team's process-oriented work, including reporting, and ensure client deadlines are met
  • Act as day to day resource for client analysts
  • Lead and/or collaborate on high level client-related projects and strategic initiatives (e.g. regulatory changes, client communications, building new client reports, etc.)
  • Identify opportunities to create efficiencies and assist in internal initiatives to implement efficiencies


QUALIFICATIONS

We seek the following professional and personal qualifications:
  • Understanding of and demonstrated interest in global capital markets, investment styles, and instruments
  • Understanding of the unique nature of insurance company investment objectives and constraints such as gain/loss, book income, accounting, regulatory and tax considerations
  • Strong relationship building skills and sound business judgment
  • Detail oriented
  • Solid analytical/problem solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Solid written and oral communications skills
  • Ability to work effectively within team environment and a willingness to "pitch in" when necessary
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment where priorities change frequently and deadlines are often under significant time pressure
  • Experience within insurance industry and exposure to fixed income markets preferred
  • MBA and/or CFA designation or equivalent advance degree preferred (or progress towards)
