Job Purpose (Job Summary):
The Director of Institutional Product Strategy & Development will report to the Head of Institutional Product Strategy & Development. This role has been newly created to support our growing institutional business. The Director of Institutional Product Strategy & Development will collaborate with investment, distribution, and organizational stakeholders globally to acquire, develop, and enhance institutional product and solution capabilities for clients, consultants, and intermediaries. Products and solutions will span all asset classes, investment strategies, and outcome-orientations offered through pooled and segregated mandates. The Director of Institutional Product Strategy & Development will identify optimal vehicle structures for each opportunity based on the target client segment. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable on an array of institutional product formats, including partnerships, SICAV-SIFs, AIFs, UCITS, SOPARFI, RAIF, and ’40 Act open-end, closed-end,
interval, DBT, IDF, etc. in Cayman, Delaware, Luxembourg, and beyond. The Director of Institutional Product Strategy & Development will lead execution in a high quality manner across diverse cross-functional teams to drive products and solutions forward through the entire lifecycle of an offering, including strategy/ideation, research/design, internal/regulatory approvals, implementation/launch, market positioning and distribution strategy, and campaign management. The Director of Institutional Product Strategy & Development will be responsible for creating materials that clearly and concisely articulate the strategy and structure of a given product or solution using schematics, workflows, and other illustrative analyses to highlight new and innovative investment and vehicle structures. Material creation will also include term sheets, fee proposals, expense projections, development timelines, and committee materials. Beyond product development, the Director of Institutional
Product Strategy & Development will also be responsible for range management, analyzing and recommending how to remediate existing products in terms of market relevance and competitive positioning, pricing, vehicle structure, or to rationalize where appropriate. The Director of Institutional Product Strategy & Development will also have opportunity to influence and own strategic initiatives and tactical projects as needed to strengthen the overall platform. In all activities, the Director or Institutional Product Strategy & Development will maintain objectivity while aggressively using big data analytics and fact-based observation as primary influencing tools. The ideal candidate will express an insatiable desire to continue expanding their knowledge and refining their skills by proactively staying abreast of macroeconomic trends and market dynamics.

Key Responsibilities / Duties:
     * Outstanding ability to define and deconstruct problems and intuitively prioritize issues
     * Excellent analytical/conceptual problem-solving skills, with ability to leverage quantitative and qualitative approaches to develop actionable recommendations
     * Demonstration of high intellectual capacity and curiosity; understanding of financial markets and the investment lifecycle is a plus
     * Strong work ethic (takes ownership), self-starter, and quick-study mentality; ability to work independently yet also lead and inspire large cross-functional teams
     * Robust project management and communication skills with demonstrated ability to gain buy-in from key stakeholders
     * Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint; coding and database experience is a plus
     * Ability to prioritize multiple, competing requirements
     * Flexibility and willingness to travel as needed

Work Experience / Knowledge:
     * 5-10 years’ minimum work experience in the institutional asset management industry;
     * 3+ years’ experience specifically within corporate strategy, product development, or a similar function at an asset manager or experience in investment consulting, fund administration, investment banking, or management consulting
     * Strong content knowledge on public equity and fixed income securities, derivative instruments, and private markets, including real assets
     * Intimate familiarity with and interest in various legal and tax jurisdictions and structuring considerations; understanding of ERISA and other regulatory frameworks
     * An understanding of the DC, DB, E&F, insurance, and sovereign wealth channels, as well as consultants and OCIOs

Formal Education: (minimum requirement to perform job duties)
     * Bachelor’s degree with a strong academic record in business, economics, finance, mathematics, or a related discipline, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 preferred
     * Master's degree in business administration, finance, or financial engineering is a plus

License/Registration/Certification: (minimum requirement to perform job duties)
     * CFA and/or CAIA is a plus
