The Country Head, Middle East & North Africa (MENA) is a newly created role responsible for building out and expanding the CFA Institute presence and advancing the mission in the Middle East.   As a member of CFA Institute EMEA Management Team, the Country Head, MENA will assist in the execution of the organizational strategy in the EMEA region and will lead the development and execution of the multi-year Middle East Business Plan. The position will be responsible for developing a detailed understanding of the dynamics and needs in the local markets in conjunction with local member societies in order to best position CFA Institute for expanded success in MENA. In-region leadership efforts will include advocacy outreach, brand awareness, educational content and events, society set-up liaison and development, and industry and regulatory outreach.  This position will support the establishment of our corporate office and be heavily involved in the staffing plan of the Abu Dhabi office.  The ideal candidate will have experience building a presence in a new market, brings strong entrepreneurial spirit and has earned the CFA Charter.  The position will be headquartered in Abu Dhabi, and will report to the Managing Director, EMEA.

Qualifications include:

Minimum of 15 years of total experience with a minimum of 10 years in business leadership in the investment management and/or broader financial services industry in the Middle Eastern region CFA charter highly desired Fluency in English and Arabic essential. Minimum 8 years’ successful staff leadership experience with a passion for developing and motivating teams Ability to work effectively through matrixed teams to accomplish key objectives Ability to create new and unique ideas and an entrepreneurial spirit a must-have Ability to establish a strong rapport with external and internal senior business partners Experience with not-for-profit member society based or educational organization would be a plus Knowledge and experience of financial markets and issues in Middle East and North African Markets Global cultural orientation and prior cross-cultural working experience
