Role & Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the investment teams and distribution organization to identify and develop compelling product ideas across asset classes in open end funds, closed end funds and alternative retail fund structures
  • Prepare analysis of the competitive landscape that a potential new product would encounter and locate factors that distinguish successful products in the category
  • Prepare new product development proposals and the presentation materials that are provided to internal Committees and independent boards as needed
  • Track demand trends, vehicles and competitive developments in Retail products
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of AllianzGI's investment platform and relative positioning of the various products
  • Work with the Retail Distribution Channel for assessing new product ideas, addressing product- related requests and tracking client demand trends

Experience/ Qualifications and Skills

  •  Strong academic track record with a BA/BS or an advanced degree and industry certification such as the CFA or CAIA
  • Ten years (or more) of experience in the asset management industry, preferably in product development /investment consulting
  • Knowledge & Skills
  • Strong knowledge and experience of different investment strategies and asset classes including Equity, Fixed Income, Multi Asset and Alternatives
  • Knowledge of different Retail investment vehicles, with experience in the formation of Open end and Closed end fund vehicles
  • Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills, with the ability to organize and interpret data to reach conclusions
  •  Strong project management skills
  • Solid understanding of the capital markets, quantitative analysis, and statistical methods
  • Strong financial modelling skills; proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience using databases and applications to analyze investment performance and flow trends (e.g. Morningstar Direct, eVestment and Factset)
  • Strong writing skills, with experience describing the performance of portfolios and connecting investment performance to broad market themes preferred
