Intermediate Investment Professional - External Managers, Traditional Investments
The Pennsylvania Public School Employees’ Retirement System (PSERS, www.psers.state.pa.us/), located in Harrisburg, PA, is seeking candidates for the position of Intermediate Investment Professional - External Managers, Traditional Investments. The organization currently has approximately $51 billion in assets under management that are invested for the long-term benefit of its members.
This position will support the Senior Portfolio Manager (External Managers) in monitoring, evaluating and sourcing external investment managers across the Traditional Asset Classes (fixed income, public equities, commodities, MLPs and risk parity).
The intermediate investment professional will be responsible for preparation of regular performance, exposure and risk reports for external managers. Additionally, this individual will assist in the preparation of investment memoranda recommending the initiation of new investment manager mandates and/or the termination of existing mandates.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail and will possess broad knowledge of quantitative performance measurement concepts. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. The intermediate investment professional will be part of a larger investment team of over 40 individuals; strong interpersonal skills and collaborative work ethic are essential.
The minimum experience and training requirements are: One year as a PSERS’ Junior Investment Professional; or a Bachelor’s degree and one year performing relevant investment traditional markets work; or an equivalent combination of experience and training. Successful completion of any of the following professional accreditations may be substituted for relevant work experience: Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) 1 year per level passed; Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) 1 year; Financial Risk Manager (FRM) 1 year per level passed; or Professional Risk Manager (PRM) 1 year.
Preferred qualifications include experience at an endowment, foundation, pension, or other allocator of capital, and experience in performance reporting/reconciliation and working with analytical software solutions like eVestment, BlackRock Solutions and Bloomberg Port.
The salary for this position is $83,756 to $119,785 and is negotiable based on experience. Compensation includes an attractive benefits package.
