About the Team:
William Blair's Advisor Solutions team is responsible for distributing William Blair's mutual funds and separately managed account strategies to wirehouses, registered investment advisors, independent broker-dealers, and banks. William Blair currently offers 19 mutual funds across domestic, global, international and emerging equities as well as fixed income and multi-asset/alternatives asset classes.

Job Summary & Responsibilities:
  • Work with the portfolio managers and research analysts to develop and implement investment strategies that are able to be communicated to investment professionals within the intermediary channel. Participate in team meetings to stay current on strategies and liaise with institutional product specialists to ensure consistency on messaging in the marketplace.
  • Perform portfolio analytics on characteristics, performance and benchmarks, and develop client and prospect presentation material necessary to effectively communicate our philosophy, process, and performance.
  • Support senior regional and regional directors as needed with cross-selling and servicing.
  • Work within a consultative nature with the national accounts team to develop engagement strategy with analyst for each platform.
  • Manage the client/prospect investment due diligence meeting needs from the point of intake to final close-out of the last follow-up item, including conducting due diligence calls, on-site meetings and select offsite meetings.
  • Establish and maintain key touchpoints including but not limited to home office investment gatekeepers, research analysts, product managers, marketing, compliance, legal and operational contacts.
  • Represent William Blair at industry conferences and events.
  • Participate in other projects as requested.

  • Bachelor's degree; MBA preferred.
  • 5 - 10 years of intermediary channel experience preferably within a product specialist, national account or client servicing role.
  • CFA is preferred.
  • Broad knowledge of capital markets and economics.
  • Experience evaluating, analyzing, and communicating investment strategies and products.
  • In-depth knowledge of investment strategies, portfolio construction, and analytical tools.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Team player and relationship builder.
