Senior or Intermediate Investment Professional
The Pennsylvania Public School Employees’ Retirement System (PSERS), a $51 billion pension fund located in Harrisburg, PA, is seeking candidates for a position in the Investment Office. This is a non-civil service senior management position classified as either a Senior or Intermediate Investment Professional reporting to a Senior Portfolio Manager of Non-U.S. Public Equities. The position supports the Global Public Equity team in the daily internal management of $7.3 billion, with a primary focus on the $3.1 billion internally managed MSCI All Country World Excluding USA Index Fund and a secondary focus on the $4.2 billion internally managed US public equity index funds.
The Senior/Intermediate Investment Professional will serve as a backup to the Non-US Public Equity Senior Portfolio Manager in the day-to-day management of PSERS internal MSCI All Country World Excluding USA Index Fund. Portfolio management functions to be performed by this employee include monitoring changes in the benchmark and corporate actions to ensure the fund is positioned to successfully replicate the index and researching/analyzing alpha-generating trade ideas to assist the Senior Portfolio Manager in making investment decisions. Additionally, the employee will create equity and foreign exchange trades for review, reconcile and review daily currency balances and calculate portfolio performance and attribution. The employee will also maintain fundamental knowledge of PSERS internal domestic public equity policies and procedures, serving as an additional resource to the domestic public equity team.
The employee will work closely with other Investment Professionals, thus effective verbal and written communication skills are required. Work is performed with the expectation of an increasing degree of independence. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required. Familiarity with utilizing a Bloomberg terminal and aptitude to become an expert user is essential. The employee should have knowledge of accepted principles, practices, and strategies in the field of institutional investments and a fundamental understanding of global public equity markets. CFA charterholders, or candidates willing to pursue and achieve the CFA designation, are preferred.
The salary for this position is $83,756 to $162,055 and is negotiable based on experience.
