Job Description

Job Purpose
  • Identify, analyse, select and monitor conviction funds for SCB platform
  • Support frontline across segments through training, updates and marketing collaterals
  • Maintain and ensure compliance and governance of Group Funds to overall Bank policy
Key Responsibilities
Fund Selection:
  • Meeting and assessing fund managers
  • Select high quality funds for SCB clients
  • Monitor Funds recommended on SCB platform
Communication, Sales and Marketing Support:
  • Communicating convincingly and effectively the rationale behind fund recommendations
  • Help manage and develop internally and externally approved marketing collaterals
  • Provide product training to both the distribution and frontline staff
  • Participate in direct client pitches when necessary
  • Collect and share views of asset manager partners with the GIC
Key Measurables
  • Helping Group Funds meet sales/AuM targets through Fund Select platform
  • Ensure strong Fund Select funds' relative performance for asset class under coverage (at least 75% and 85% of the funds ranked in the top 2 quartiles of their respective peer group over 1 and 3-year periods, respectively)
  • Proactively and timely gererating ideas to benefit from prevailing/upcoming trends/themes in the markets through new managers added on the Fund Select platform or through switch recommendations
  • Producing high quality tear sheets with insightful contents that adds value for the frontline compared to generic factsheets provided by fund houses
  • Timely communication about new fund launches, switch recommendations and any other relevant updates
  • Frequent sharing of information/intelligence about asset management industry trends
Key Relationships:
  • Product Managers, Investment Advisors in countries (PrB), Investment Advisors, Relationship Managers (PvB)
    • Ensuring that adequate support is provided to the various distribution segments.
    • Clear and efficient communication about rationale for recommendations
  • GIC / Investment Strategy team / Discretionary Portfolio Management team
    • Share relevant/meaningful asset management industry intelligence (Trends, flows, portfolio managers positioning etc...)


Qualifications and Skills

Functional
  • Tertiary education minimum, CFA charterholder preferred
  • At least 5 years of experience in a fund selection role
  • Deep knowledge of global equity and fixed income markets
  • Experienced user of mutual fund databases (Morningstar/Lipper)
  • Strong analytical, writing and presentation skills
Personal
  • Able to work independently, but also be an effective team player
  • Driven, and able to demonstrate initiative
  • Extremely hard-working and well organized, demonstrating willingness to learn
  • Strong communication skills and ability to develop strong internal and external relationships
  • Enjoy working in a challenging, fast paced environment
  • The candidate should possess a "can-do" mindset and entrepreneurial attitude.
