Associate Director, Corporate Lending

Overview

Reporting to the Vice President of Corporate Lending, the Associate Director of Corporate Lending is responsible for sourcing, negotiating and managing new corporate lending investments for Centurion Financial Trust.

Responsibilities

Relationship Development

Develop and foster positive relationships with key stakeholders to expand product recognition throughout the lending channel. Support existing client base, professionally handling all inquiries and requests to ensure that a high level of client satisfaction is achieved through consistent attention to Centurion’s Vision, Mission and Values.

Ongoing Operations

Expand overall lending growth by sourcing new commercial Clients and improving existing relationships, placing great focus on obtaining direct and referral business. Meet with prospective Clients to market the lending and joint venture programs, answering questions about the process and collecting all required due diligence documentation. Work closely with the Mortgage and Acquisitions Departments to ensure due diligence is completed according to established standards. Successfully negotiate and structure corporate finance and investment opportunities. Provide written recommendations to Management for approval. Draft and issue terms sheets and commitment letters. Supervise the preparation and execution of all required legal documentation by external counsel. Review draw requests and supervise loan advances. Maintain a constant awareness of the competitive environment for similar products, providing strategic industry insight and working closely with Management to develop successful marketing strategies. Complete other duties as assigned. 

Requirements

  • A passion for excellence in client services and deal origination;
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field;
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in commercial lending, mezzanine, bridge, subordinate debt and/or royalty structures with strong knowledge of alternative debt lenders and products;
  • Demonstrated track record of building and growing lending relationships;
  • Well connected in the commercial lending industry with a strong network of contacts;
  • Self-starter; highly motivated and able to take the initiative required to achieve goals and objectives;
  • Exceptional interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to present ideas effectively to both individuals and groups;
  • Excellent follow-up skills with the ability to effectively resolve problems in a timely manner using relevant information, sound reasoning and common sense;
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and a strong ability to multi-task; and
  • Excellent command of MS Office products: Word, Power Point, Excel.
