The Director, Capital Markets Policy, Asia Pacific (APAC) will be a key player in helping to identify and direct activities for our Advocacy team and promote our capital markets agenda and other policies and positions in the Asia Pacific region that will contribute towards the mission of enhancing market fairness, efficiency, transparency and investor protection. This is primarily a policy research development and promotion function. The position will monitor markets, conduct research on topics that will advance market integrity, speak at conferences and society events and other public awareness activities. The Director, Capital Markets Policy, APAC will be accountable for executing research projects and related activities. This will include initiating research ideas, conducting and completing research white papers that address issues relevant in Asia Pacific, and will also manage and update content of papers and positions developed from current inventory. The position will work with Advocacy and other functional and country teams regionally and globally to ensure that relevant APAC and functional strategic goals are met.

The position will be headquartered in Hong Kong and will be supported by the Head, Advocacy, APAC with matrix reporting to the Head, Global Capital Markets Policy.

Key qualifications include:

  • Knowledge and experience of financial markets and issues in the Asia Pacific region.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: corporate governance, asset management, securities research, compliance and securities regulations.
  • Experience in policy research writing.
  • Stewardship and relationship management skills.
  • Master’s Degree preferred.
  • CFA Charter preferred.
