Our client is a multi-asset investment manager and a specialist manager of diversified portfolios. They provide bespoke investment solutions and manage assets across a range of domestic and international asset classes including equities, fixed income, currency, real assets and alternatives. With a mandate to expand their scope and capability, they are currently looking to hire an Investment Analyst and an Equity Analyst into their team to work closely with their Portfolio Managers and CIO.

Investment Analyst 

We anticipate your responsibilities will include: 

• Working across the firm's various investment strategy models, including extracting information from Bloomberg and other relevant sources then compiling into investment committee packs

• A heavy focus on data analysis (not a decision making role, initially; but with scope over time) driven by the respective Portfolio Managers of each of the asset classes

• Analysis and appraisal investment ideas; including valuations, financial modelling and due diligence, with the ability to understand valuation frameworks across asset classes as well as macro inputs

• Building investment theses and investment cases to go to the investment committee

• Monitoring and reporting on the performance of current portfolio investments

It is expected that you will have the following skills, experience and competencies:

• 2-4 years' experience in a similar role from professional services, CA Big 4 firm or investment bank with some exposure to funds management, advisory or asset consulting preferred

• Bloomberg experience; with the ability to download Bloomberg data into Excel and an understanding of Bloomberg terminal commands

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including but not limited to: vlookups, sumif, whatif, standard deviations & return calculations with VBA experience being an advantage

• Proven mathematical ability, with an understanding of the formulas required to calculate investment returns as well as an understanding of performance calculations

Equity Analyst

We anticipate your responsibilities will include: 

• Perform accurate fundamental research analysis and timely review of listed equities in regards to any relevant financial and operational information on each company

• Alongside the Chief Investment Officer and Portfolio Managers, preparing and representing verbal and written analysis and reports

• Develop strong networks with both the management of relevant companies and the relevant providers on the activities and performance of listed equities the firm is invested in

• Research any relevant investment or related legal issues as required 

It is expected that you will have the following skills, experience and competencies:

• 3-5 years in a similar role (ie. working with an equity funds manager) with demonstrated experience in evaluation of publicly listed companies

• Sound knowledge and understanding of investment finance theory, financial company model building and the ability to forecast earnings

• Highly numerate and mathematical with demonstrated analytical skills and high attention to detail

• Strong verbal & written communication, negotiation and problem solving skills

• Individuals working towards CFA qualifications will be highly regarded
