Institutional Equity Sales

The qualified candidate will use specialized knowledge and skills obtained through education and experience to maintain and develop business relationships with institutional clients.  The candidate will manage most aspects of accounts including fundamental analysis of companies within a rigorous team investment selection process, advising clients on investment opportunities and recommending buying and selling of securities.  The candidate must have strong financial analytic skills as well as sales competencies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Researches and analyzes Western European and North American companies and industries for favorable investment opportunities and trends
  • Develops and maintains relationships with institutional clients to facilitate efficient and effective client service.
  • Generates new sales ideas and promotion of sales ideas through written sales memos, proactive phone networking and client meetings.
  • Disseminates timely marketing materials for equity products and services targeted at institutional investors.
  • Works closely with clients' investment personnel, advises clients on investment opportunities, and recommends buying and selling of securities.
  • Develops customized recommendations and strategies for clients based upon their investment styles and parameters.
  • Stays abreast of global financial news/issues that may affect markets.
  • Tracks and reviews performance on assigned accounts to ensure adding value.
  • Attends meetings and /or conferences to present Raymond James and its ideas to institutional clients.
  • Responds to inquiries from institutional investors about the department's investment philosophies, products and services. 
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of working in finance preferably as equity sales or buy side analyst/portfolio manager
  • Candidate must possess strong English language skills: both spoken and written.
  • Preference given to candidates who have completed or are working on the CFA program.
