Real Assets Specialist
This individual will be part of a team responsible for the ongoing development of the Real Assets program within Saudi Aramco’s employee defined benefit pension plans. This program includes investments across real estate, infrastructure and agriculture asset classes.
Responsibilities include identifying investments (both direct and funds), evaluating fund managers and co-investment opportunities, negotiating commercial terms, ongoing manager and investment monitoring, and support to governing and managing fiduciaries within the investment decision making framework.
Real Assets Specialists operate primarily as senior staff level consultants with their day-to-day activities contingent on department projects. They must be capable of managing a dynamic portfolio of projects with constantly changing priorities and tight deadlines and are also called upon to serve as team members and leaders on multidiscipline task forces.
Successful candidates for the Real Asset Specialist will possess significant relevant fund and/or direct investment experience across at least one asset class of: Real Estate, Infrastructure and Agriculture. Candidates with infrastructure and/or experience across multiple above asset classes is preferred.
The individual should be considered as a subject matter expert for that industry. The applicant must be a team player, be able to plan and coordinate their own and others’ workload and meet tight work deadlines. The applicant will be able to add value by delivering work of the highest quality and be able to proactively overcome challenges to ensure timely delivery. The applicant must be able to work with minimum supervision, possess good project management skills and be able to offer logical and innovative solutions to complex investment issues.
A minimum of 10 years of total experience in the investment field with at least 5 years of experience managing real assets.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or relevant professional certification such as the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent, is strongly preferred.
Candidate must be capable of interfacing with senior management in an advisory capacity.
Ability to interact with a multitude of business areas, including participating in and leading cross-functional teams.
Excellent analytical abilities with strong attention to detail.
Ability to prepare complex management reports reflecting the results of analysis with evaluation of alternatives and recommended action as well as the interpersonal skills to communicate recommendations concisely and effectively.
Negotiation and leadership skills are highly desirable. Candidates must be able to mentor young professionals.
