DIVISIONS AND JOB FUNCTIONS
Risk aims to effectively identify, monitor, evaluate and manage the firm's financial and operational risks - including reputational risk - in support of the firm's strategic plan. Operating in a fast changing environment and utilizing the best in class risk framework, Risk teams are analytically curious, have an aptitude for challenges and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
Teams: Credit Risk, Enterprise Risk, Liquidity Risk, Market Risk, Model Risk, Operational Risk, Corporate Risk, Credit Review Group
Internal Audit assesses the firm's internal control structure, advises management on developing control solutions, and monitors the implementation of these measures. Audit teams work alongside the Finance and Technology divisions and make sure the firm is operating in a way that is safe and functional across the firm's footprint
The primary role of Internal Audit is to help protect the assets, reputation and sustainability of the organization. We ensure that Goldman Sachs maintains effective controls by assessing the reliability of financial reports, monitoring the firm's compliance with laws and regulations, and advising management on developing smart control solutions. Our group has unique insight on the financial industry and its products and operations. IA assists the firm's Board of Directors Audit Committee in fulfilling its oversight responsibilities and regularly interacts with the external independent auditors.
Basic Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of experience, ideally with a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Maths, Engineering or Statistics
  • Proficiency in programming languages, such as Python, Java, or C++
  • Knowledge of basic statistics, including descriptive statistics, data distribution models, Time Series Analysis, correlation, and regression, and its application to data
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills (written and oral). Ability to communicate what is relevant and important in a clear and concise manner and ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Driven and motivated and constantly taking initiative to improve performance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with data analytics tools and techniques
  • Well versed with Python/SQL coding
  • Familiarity with text analytics and NLP using Python
  • Familiarity with machine learning algorithms and exposure to supervised and unsupervised learning - Linear/Logistic Regression, SVM, Random Forest and Boosting, Clustering and Patterns Recognition techniques
  • Experience with analytical/ statistical programs such as SAS, SPSS, and R
  • Experience with visualization tools (Spotfire, Qlikview or Tableau) is a plus
  • Creativity/Innovation, i.e., ability to create new ways to improve current processes and develop practical solutions that add value to department
  • Exposure to Financial Industry Investment/Retail or Commercial Banking is a plus
