WHO YOU ARE

As a Data Business Analyst , you are responsible for collecting and translating information requirements into data-centric solutions. You'll be enriching a data store that is foundational to Northern Trust's digital transformation initiatives. You understand the importance of domain driven design and will act as a Business Analyst of one or more data domains. Your strong business acumen allows you to communicate the meaning of complex data concepts to non-technical business partners. As a thought expert in this space, you realize that effectively serving the needs of our business is less about taking orders and more about collaborating on the art of the possible. You work hard to stay on top of fast changing technology and have a real passion for extraordinary user experience. Furthermore:
  • 5+ years of experience with analyzing and defining data-centric solutions
  • Experience in documenting current state and designing future state data flows
  • Strong SQL skills, and strong problem solving, analytic, and quantitative abilities
  • Knowledge of data architecture and design patterns and have applied them
  • Deep knowledge of Agile principles, practices/techniques and the flexibility to adapt your experience to new and evolving environments
  • Experience acting as a constructive conduit between business and technology teams

We are actively developing taxonomies and ontologies for data curation and democratization. As a Business Analyst , you will:
  • Collaborate with the Business Data Delivery Lead on data strategy in partnership with business data stewards and technology development partners
  • Execute the data strategy by leading initiatives that ingest, harmonize, and expose data across multiple platforms
  • Identify short-term and long-term opportunities to improve data management maturity and data driven decision making
