This is a great opportunity to grow your stakeholder engagement and business analysis skills, whilst contributing to our next generation of data and analytics platforms. You will be supported to excel in your role, as your work makes a positive difference.

Within our Commodities and Global Markets division, our Specialised and Asset and Finance team are a global provider of specialist finance and asset management solutions across Technology, Media & Telecoms (TMT); Energy, Renewables & Sustainability; Resources; Structured Lending; and Shipping & Export Credit Agencies.

In this role, you will:

As a Business Analyst, you collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to gather requirements and support the build of our central invoice financing platform. As we transition from our current state towards a future automated data pipeline, you will help to enable and support a new, emerging, portfolio of receivables that will be booked and managed within this platform.

Working closely with technology teams throughout, you will participate in testing activities, and provide ongoing business support. Your role will help to drive reporting and provide analytics capabilities, ensuring that we meet critical finance and regulatory reporting requirements, along with future business demands.

What skills will you bring?

To be successful in this role, you will have hands-on experience as a Business Analyst, from initiation through to delivery. You will have a curious mindset to identify and document requirements with an eye for detail. You will also bring:
  • 3-5 years' experience working as a Business Analyst, ideally within banking/financial services
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Technical proficiency to understand and work with data using tools such as SQL, and be comfortable analysing data from various sources
  • An understanding of business processes, and how data flows through the organisation
  • A bachelor's degree, ideally in a quantitative or financial discipline
Additionally, having any of the below skills is a bonus:
  • Advanced Excel skills, PowerBI, Dataiku, or similar experience working with data tools
  • An understanding of data governance and financial regulatory reporting
  • Experience within financial markets and/or financial product and system knowledge
At Macquarie, we work to a hybrid model. Successful candidates have the option to work from home 1-2x days per week and from our Sydney office for the remainder, to strengthen your working relationships while supporting your development and wellbeing. If you are located outside of Sydney, please highlight on your CV if you are wishing to relocate or otherwise.
