With the significant growth of the Commodities and Global Markets business, an exciting opportunity has arisen to support the governance, management, and prioritisation of the business' portfolio of projects. The role will be responsible for the operational aspects of project governance and portfolio management, as well as playing a key role in designing and delivering strategic and innovate solutions in this space.

The role sits within the Commodities and Global Markets Change & Project Management team, where you will be a key adviser to the business' project management community and a trusted project governance subject matter expert. Stakeholder engagement and management is critical to this role, where you will work with all levels of management, an extensive network of experienced project managers, and numerous other project and change functions throughout Macquarie.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Operationalising and enhancing the change delivery framework
  • Supporting the development of systems, tools and artefacts to drive efficient and effective project delivery outcomes
  • Managing the central knowledge hub for the project management community
  • Working with the business, technology and operations teams to develop project business cases for approval at senior leadership committees
  • Managing the business' primary project oversight and governance committee, to provide senior leaders with the information and tools to oversee, govern and prioritise change
  • Managing and enhancing the project prioritisation process
  • Providing advice to the business' project management community on best practice project and change management principles and techniques
  • Running the monthly project reporting process
  • Driving the annual project budget-setting process
  • Developing presentations and other material for senior management committees, forums and workshops
  • Performing project assurance activities, as required
  • Supporting the delivery of strategic uplift initiatives
  • Continuously identifying opportunities to uplift the way that the business governs, manages and prioritises projects and change
You will need to have:
  • 4+ years' experience in a structured project delivery or PMO/project governance environment, ideally from a large financial institution (project or portfolio management certifications will be highly regarded)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to excellence
  • A strong risk management and governance mindset
  • Strong influencing skills
  • A desire to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment that is constantly evolving
  • An ability and eagerness to work with multiple stakeholders at all levels across Macquarie
