Who we are looking for
This role has responsibility for managing tasks and initiatives associated with First Line of Defence (FLoD) functions including reporting, incident management , risk identification, control testing, and driving local coordination for improvement initiatives. This role will also complete projects, assignments and other activities as directed.
Business Governance team members work closely with Operations and a solid knowledge of controls, process engineering and/or business architecture experience in order to ensure best practices and consistency are adopted across IFDSI. Operational expertise would also be advantageous in this role. Strong communication and relationship management skills are also desirable to build a true partnership between Business Risk Management, Operations, Compliance, Risk Management and other business groups.

What you will be responsible for
As IFDS-Transfer Agency-(First-Line-of-Defence Risk Governance), Senior Associate you will
  • Be part of a central group of Business Risk Managers to review, validate, enrich and manage the closure of Operational Incidents.
  • Assist in standing up the new FLoD operations and compliance risk and controls testing program with the IFDSI operations teams.
  • Perform process and control walkthrough reviews. Establish, implement, and document associated risks and mitigating controls.
  • Ensure all process flows, checklists, and key risks and controls, are adequately documented in Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and are reviewed/updated on a regular basis.
  • Completion of risk-based assurance reviews over first line control execution and validate the sufficiency of internal controls in place through testing and self-identifying operational and compliance issues.

  • Manage a self-testing and monitoring program for the operational teams to ensure that all controls are effective, applicable and being adhered to.
  • Work with other governance and risk functions to develop and implement controls that mitigate operational and compliance risks.

Education & Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (desired but not mandatory) and/or relevant years' experience in operations and/or risk management within an operational function
  • Demonstrated market knowledge and understanding of operational processes, risks and controls
  • Previous experience in a controls environment from a first, second or third line of defense perspective while not mandatory, will be highly regarded.
  • Strong PowerPoint, excel, designing templates, visio flow diagrams, etc. advantageous
  • Previous experience in reviewing and implementing initiatives, policies and procedures desirable
