Location: Within Minnesota, North Dakota, or Wisconsin that will be determined based on candidate location and Bremer’s current needs.

Bremer has an exciting new opportunity for a strategic people leader with an extensive fiduciary background to manage a team of Wealth Advisors across Bremer’s footprint.

The Sr. Wealth Advisor Team Lead will be responsible for:

  • Team Leadership
    • Recruit, manage, and develop a team of wealth advisors.
    • Provide ongoing coaching in the areas of business development and retention, achieving individual and team sales goals, risk management, and expanding products and service to clients by introducing Bremer partners.
    • Develop and promote sales ideas and effective business practices and work with advisors to identify opportunities and close business.
    • Assist in training and educating Wealth Advisors to build fiduciary expertise, and develop key financial planning concepts, product solutions.
    • Be a subject matter expert resource for Wealth Advisors regarding issues which impact high net worth clients, such as complex financial planning, estate and personal trust issues.
  • Strategic Leadership
    • Participate in strategic planning for wealth business.
    • Lead and participate in initiatives both within Bremer Wealth and with key partners across markets and business segments.
    • Partner with Wealth Advisors and Wealth Strategist to bring short educational sessions to Business/Ag bankers.
    • Stay current on legal and regulatory changes that impact planning, identify financial planning trends and techniques, and coordinate training/updates as needed for wealth advisors.
  • Wealth Advisory
    • Develop new wealth advisory and trust business and administer a small book of wealth advisory and trust accounts delivering Bremer’s high net worth customer experience.
    • Counsel clients and prospects on financial matters such as, but not limited to asset allocation, wealth management, retirement planning, education funding, estate planning, tax strategies, investment planning, executive planning and business succession planning.
    • Partner with members of other Bremer business lines to promote and deliver all appropriate Bremer services to prospects and existing clients.

Qualifications

The combination of education and experience which enables the incumbent to be successful in the job is generally acquired through the attainment of a bachelor’s degree and 10 or more years of trust and fiduciary experience:

  • Required experience, knowledge, skills:
    • Bachelor’s degree in related field
    • 10+ years of trust and fiduciary experience
    • Prior experience leading effective teams
  • Highly preferred experience, knowledge, skills:
    • Financial planning background
    • Sales team leadership
    • CTFA and/or CFP
    • MBA, CPA, and/or JD
  • Demonstrated ability to:
    • Communicate and implement strategic initiatives within a departmental unit and ensure organizational and/or departmental objectives are met.
    • Provide work direction to others, communicate expectations, and manage and appraise performance of others.
    • Direct the business development activities for the department drawing on personal expertise in sales.
    • Effectively present information and respond to inquiries, complaints, or questions from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community, and the general public.
