The Manager, Investment Risk Management is responsible for managing investment risk measurement outside the U.S. This position is responsible for providing investment risk analysis and recommendations regarding ways to analyze and measure investment risk and performance. As a member of the Asset Management Risk leadership team, this role participates in developing strategic initiatives and talent assessments. In addition to consulting with senior management and investment team leadership, the role with also manage or oversee significant projects.

Major Duties
  • Responsible for serving as subject matter expert in providing investment risk analysis and recommendations regarding ways to analyze and measure investment risk and performance.
  • As technical expert, provides comprehensive, in-depth consulting to the business, advising management on how specific investment risks or issues impact business unit decisions.
  • Reviews, interprets, and implements procedures for investment risk in Asset Management's EMEA and APAC regions revises existing policies and practices as necessary.
  • Reviews existing Sustainable Investment /Environmental, Social, Governance investment risk frameworks, practices, measures and reporting and revises / establishes policies, procedures and reporting as appropriate.
  • Lead the review and assessment of the firm's Derivatives Risk Management Program under 1940 Act Rule 18f-4 and serving as Designated Risk Manager.
  • Reviews and advises on new investment products and services; performs investment risk analysis and assessments.
  • Maintains regular contact with peers internal and external to firm, including regulators and professional organizations.
  • Manages projects, including planning, organizing, and directing activities towards project goals
  • Participates in developing Asset Management Risk's strategic initiatives and sets goals and priorities based on the direction set for the unit; follows through to ensure that objectives are met.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to staff, fostering an environment that encourages employee participation, teamwork, and communication.
Knowledge/Skills

Strong quantitative and analytical skills are needed to analyze statistical information. Knowledge of investment products is critical to job execution. Highly flexible and adaptable to change. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Leadership and organizational skills are required to determine the function's goals, resources needed, and to assess and develop the skills of staff.

Experience Required
A College or University in Finance degree and/or relevant proven work experience is required in a financial services industry's investment function(s). Advanced degree and/or related Industry qualification (e.g. CFA, FRM) is required.
