Our client is a recently launched private equity firm focusing on the asset & wealth management area. The first fund has closed at approximately $1 billion AUM. The team is based in Chicago.
THE ROLE
Reporting Relations
The Associate will report to the Partner and Head of Investments and work with one or two other Associates as peers.

Reporting Relations
The Associate will report to the Partner and Head of Investments and work with one or two other Associates as peers.
Responsibilities
- Execute the development of financial models, valuation analyses, research, and presentation materials.
- Participate in day-to-day transaction execution under direction of the Head of Investments.
- Resolve complex financial and accounting issues.
- Pursue industry and competitive analysis.
- Draft investor and target company presentation materials.
- Coordinate and perform business due diligence.
- Interface with external bankers and counsel in the negotiation of transactions.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
"Must Have" Qualifications
- One to three years of investment banking experience, primarily M&A, with a strong preference for prior FIG industry knowledge.
- Demonstrated aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- Expert at using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Knowledgeable in the use of a wide range of data service providers and their analytics, including Bloomberg and Prequin, among others.
- Broad knowledge of accounting, valuations, finance, and business strategy.
- Exceptional communication skills and executive presence, both verbal and written.
- Elevated attention to detail and consistency in work product and a high level of stamina.
- Self-starting team player who excels in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, challenging work environment.
- Strong academic qualifications such as an MBA or a Masters in Finance, or other professional certifications such as a CPA or CFA.
- FINRA 7, 79, 63/66 licenses required at time of hiring or shortly thereafter.
