Position description

Are you passionate about building secure applications? PIMCO's application security and developer experience team is looking for software engineer with a security mentality to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have strong understanding of software engineering principles, distributed system designs as well as experience in secure application development. On this team you will work closely with platform engineering team, developers and security teams to codify the security recommendations to ensure that our application are developed securely from the start.

What you will do

• Designing and building scalable technical solutions to address security weaknesses (30%)
• Building security automation and integrate with SDLC (20%)
• Provide ongoing support across the technology organization related to Application Security (20%)
• Create code samples and demo apps to enable developers (10%)
• Plan/Prioritize/Co-ordinate/Report cross-functional tasks (20%)

Who you are

• You have 5 years of proven experience as a Software Developer, Architect, Application Security engineer
• You have experience in Application Security Domain, SLSA concepts, Secure Coding practices
• You have experience in Linux and Shell Scripting
• You have experience in designing and developing robust, distributed systems
• You are technically adept, and comfortable with one or more general purpose programming language - Java, Python, Go
• You have the ability to effectively collaborate in a global, matrixed organization - This role is highly cross-functional
• You have demonstrated empathy for developers.

PIMCO follows a total compensation approach when rewarding employees which includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus. Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors. The discretionary bonus is used to award performance and therefore is determined by company, business, team, and individual performance.

Salary Range: $ 126,000.00 - $ 168,000.00
