Research Associate Position

Iris Asset Management Ltd. is a Calgary-based investment management firm with an emphasis on Canadian and U.S. equity selection and portfolio management.

Job Description

• Perform in-depth research on a specific set of Canadian and U.S. companies and industries
• Build, maintain and analyze financial models and monitor market movement for trading opportunities among existing portfolio positions
• Recommend securities consistent with Iris’ investment style that will add value to client portfolios
• Generate written research reports, commentaries and presentations, as required
• Participate in regular meetings with the Portfolio Manager and clients, when necessary, to communicate analysis and opinions

Education Requirement

• Hold a Bachelor of Commerce, Master of Business Administration degree or accounting designation
• Completion of Level I of the Chartered Financial Analyst program will be considered an asset
• Deep understanding of accounting, financial statement analysis and security analysis principles

• Microsoft Office (Excel, in particular) proficiency is required
