Acquisitions play an integral role in advancing Goldman Sachs' growth strategy. One of the largest acquisitions in recent years is NN Investment Partners, acquired in April 2022 and currently being integrated into AWM.

NNIP is European asset manager based in The Hague, Netherlands with offices in 14 other countries. The acquisition significantly expands GS's footprint in the Insurance Asset Management business, ESG product suite, track record, and capabilities, as well as broadening GS's European distribution capabilities (particularly the retail channel).

The integration is underway firmwide and the program is expected to last 3+ years. Multiple areas of the integration program are seeking experienced project managers to support the integration of people, processes, clients and technology.

PMO roles are located in London, The Hague (Netherland), Bangalore and New York, reporting to the Head of AWM Change Management, with day to day oversight by the relevant workstream leads. You will be responsible for executing the project management of GS's acquisition of NNIP, interfacing with other functions involved in the integration and the seller / newly acquired employees in order to drive an efficient integration of the acquired company's people, technology, vendors and processes.

You will have experience working on complex projects in a project manager role. You will also have a demonstrable interest in creating new processes and infusing best practice; and implementing new structures. You will ideally bring a deep understanding of processes and systems used at GS, ideally in functions such as Operations, Engineering, Workplace Solutions, Risk, Human Capital or Compliance. Project management of key milestones will be a core part of this role, working alongside both heritage GS and NNIP stakeholders.

Ability to plan, track and push progress across the program will be essential. Day-today, your role will include creating and maintaining detailed plans, status reporting, meeting materials and follow ups. As a PMO on NNIP, you will be expected to drive issues and risks to resolution, owning the actions as well as reporting and tracking progress. Alongside the workstream lead, you will be the primary contact for your workstream, which may consist of dozens of stakeholders.

This role has ownership of a wide array of content for senior audiences. As such, strong written and PowerPoint communication skills are essential.

Longer term, you will be exposed to the breadth of M&A activities at GS with multiple business lines, including its opportunities and challenges, and frequent interaction across all divisions of the firm. The opportunity will include extensive exposure to the Office of Integration, supporting integration efforts with their team.

Beyond this role, candidates can expect a number of attractive career paths within the firm, including opportunities to move into the acquiring divisions to focus on specific acquired businesses, if desired.

Desired Experience / Skills
  • Ability to build relationships and consensus across divisions
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet competing deadlines - deep project management skills are a must
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Collaborative and team-oriented with a high degree of emotional intelligence
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with confidence and ability to create and present messages to senior audiences
  • Experience creating PowerPoint presentations for senior stakeholders
  • Deep understanding of Goldman Sachs business structures and processes (i.e., ability to "navigate GS")
  • Ability to review and synthesize information and form independent judgments
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and MS Excel skills - specifically in tracking budgets and measuring the success of transactions
Able to provide seamless coordination across the acquiring businesses, target companies, and GS internal teams. You will be key in connecting the dots between all the various functions and relaying information
