We are seeking a proven Operations Associate to join our team to assume all operational and performance-related aspects of our global fund portfolio. The position offers abundant opportunity for a candidate to continue to develop in the areas of fund portfolio reporting and group performance reporting. Due to our small size and collaborative and merit-based environment, they will be required to make significant firm-wide contributions on an immediate basis.
Responsibilities include:
- Assume ownership of fund performance and other related portfolio data in collaboration with our administrator
- Monitor and track portfolio data in the Addepar system and continuing to develop the platform
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and ad hoc performance summaries and other related performance metrics
- Maintain internal monthly performance package for investment team
- Assist with year-end portfolio reporting as well as other investment team support such as attribution analysis, geographic exposure analysis, 13-F analysis, and organic/inorganic AUM analysis
- Answer questions regarding fund performance, portfolio metrics, and operations, and prepare relevant materials, which may include incorporating the impact of real-time or hypothetical events into Bluestem’s performance reporting
- Work closely with the CFO/CCO on operational and accounting functions (e.g., review of NAV packages, audit requests, taxes/K-1 review, bank compliance reporting). They often function as the CFO’s right hand (assumes coverage if CFO is out)
Qualifications:
- High integrity and trustworthiness
- Reliability, diligence, and strong attention to detail
- Strong Excel skills. Ability to replicate existing reports and create new and improved versions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- History of high performance in past endeavors
- Proactive and cooperative approach to work; takes ownership of tasks
- Experience with the following a plus: fund accounting, Bloomberg terminal and S&P Capital IQ
- Relevant experience in performance reporting required
- Desire to live and work in Charlottesville, VA
