Global Consumer Bank UK Business Risk and Control team is an in-business team responsible for oversight and co-ordination of control related activities for the Consumer Bank.
The Business Risk and Control team's core function is to ensure the proactive identification and mitigation of risk and control issues and works closely with Citi's internal control functions so that the Consumer business meets its obligations for internal control and risk management.

The Business Financial Crime Risk Analyst is responsible for establishing internal procedures to prevent money laundering and assist in all matters concerning financial crimes in coordination with the broader ICRM AML team. The individual will work with the Business Risk and Control team and wider Consumer business to enhance the control environment, and to create processes to address the variety of internal and external control policies to which Consumer are subject.

Responsibilities:
  • Risk partnering - partnering with the business to oversee and support adherence to the UK & Jersey Consumer Bank overall control framework; working with Business Managers, Client Coverage staff and providing business Financial Crime advisory services across a range of processes and controls
  • Execution and delivery of the Consumer Bank's AML Risk Management agenda, including liaison with first and second line teams across Business, Operations and AML Compliance Risk Management
  • Execution and delivery of the Consumer Bank's Sanctions Risk Management agenda, including liaison with Group function, co-ordination of relevant work programmes
  • Internal risk and control related consultancy on initiatives (including digitisation, digital platforms and programs, client experience, business and regulatory change) that impact the control environment, ensuring that these are managed effectively from the point of view of risk and control
  • Collation, reporting and analysis of key risk and control related metrics (i.e. AML, KYC, Sanctions) both within the UK and in support of the Consumer Bank's and Citi Global Wealth Management's Global risk assessment process
  • Monitoring, tracking and execution of corrective action plans (in particular in relation to AML, KYC, Sanctions), overseeing appropriate and on-time remediation of risk issues
  • Causal analysis and remediation of control weaknesses or errors identified through the risk and control assessment processes or through operational losses or risk events
  • Supporting the execution and co-ordination of the Internal and External audit agenda
  • Supporting the commercial implementation of all Citi wide policies and procedures in the Consumer business, with a focus on AML, KYC and Sanctions related policies and procedures
  • Delivering process and control deep dive review activity as required by the Head of Business Risk and Control
  • Analyze data, prepare and present regional/global reports related to AML risk assessments
  • Monitor AML related issues and escalations with senior management and global partners
  • Evaluate and respond to escalated matters, further escalate as required, and advise senior management on next steps as needed
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Anti-Money Laundering (AML) certification (desirable)
  • Knowledge of appropriate regulatory requirements including local and US laws, international and industry standards
  • Knowledge of AML regulations, risks, and appropriate controls
  • Demonstrated analytical skills
  • Ability to work with regional and global partners

  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
