The Role:

Morningstar Wealth is seeking a high performing executive to lead our National Account organization to exceed revenue growth targets. Beyond having a passion for excellence, the desired candidate will possess deep strategic account management experience in the asset management, intermediary advisory, and fintech space along with a successful track record of rising above challenges to exceed expected results. This individual will demonstrate strong business acumen and a proven history of success in developing and leading teams. The position reports to the Managing Director of Revenue for Morningstar Wealth, Americas.

The role is primarily responsible for leading and managing a National Account team for Morningstar Wealth and evolving our account coverage and strategy to achieve exceptional results. This will include driving account penetration, wallet share, awareness, and revenue for new product launches, increasing feature adoption of new capabilities, creating new access points for distribution opportunities, and collaborating closely with Sales for execution.

This dynamic candidate will demonstrate a team-first mindset in partnering with key stakeholders and teams across Product, Sales, Investments, Operations, Technology, Compliance, and Marketing to execute the strategy.

The ideal candidate will identify and empathize with client needs, understand the market demand and requirements, strategically navigate the competitive landscape to determine best revenue opportunities, serve as a subject matter expert on our investment management business both internally and externally, and will continuously find ways to grow a mission-aligned business to empower investor success.


  • Lead, grow, and drive our National Account team to exceed revenue targets
  • Attract, develop, and retain industry leading talent
  • Partner with other key stakeholders in strategically positioning our evolving product lines including our Platform (TAMP), proprietary investment products (including Morningstar models, SMAs and open-end mutual funds)
  • Lead cross-functional governance and business committees such as pricing strategy and new product business plans
  • Foster collaboration and execution across product, distribution, marketing, compliance, and investments teams to drive product innovation and adoption across proprietary and third-party wealth platforms
  • Proactively identify product innovation and existing product positioning opportunities based on industry trends, current market environment and competitive advantages to meet customer needs
  • Perform analysis on key performance indicators (KPIs) and measurements of business and product success (e.g., net sales targets, product profitability, customer satisfaction, quality, etc.) to inform business strategy
  • Engage with the board of directors for the Morningstar suite of mutual funds


  • 15+ years relevant leadership experience within a regulated asset or wealth management firm.
  • Proven track record of commercial success and product innovation in the traditional and/or alternative investment space for advisory clients.
  • Highly effective communicator with institutional clients including C-suite executives; strong technical acumen, excellent writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Mastery and deep knowledge of advisor channels, primarily independent RIAs and Broker/Dealers; experience working with the financial advisor community and/or managed account platforms
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills including demonstrated experience with research, data gathering and ability to think strategically
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills, with a proven ability to collaborate with diverse, multi-functional teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred, CFA designation a plus
