About this role

Business Unit Overview:

The Business Intelligence team within the EMEA Client COO team leverages technology and data to develop management information and analytics that drive actionable insights into how our sales teams perform and engage with our clients across the EMEA client businesses. We directly help shape how BlackRock sells and services our clients through the power of data to ultimately help drive our business forward.

We are looking for an experienced, energetic and self-motivated professional to lead and champion our key ETF client data initiative from our Centre of Excellence in Budapest. The successful candidate will have a passion for technology, data, and engineering process improvements. You will have a love of solving complex problems together with building trusted relationships across regional stakeholders to drive initiatives.

You will be comfortable pivoting between leading and managing the initiative in EMEA (50%) and developing solutions, working across a range of technology capabilities, including databases, reporting software, and infrastructure to evolve and enhance the operating model (50%).

At BlackRock, we embrace your outstanding skills, curiosity, and passion while allowing you to grow professionally and as an individual. With over $8 trillion of assets under management, we have an exceptional responsibility: our products and technology empower millions of investors to save for retirement, pay for college, buy a home, and improve their general financial well-being.

Your responsibilities may include:
  • Lead and champion the ETF client holdings initiative for the EMEA region
  • Own the ETF client data and associated business processes
  • Ensure the highest levels of data accuracy from the initiative including owning data errors to resolution and business intelligence reports
  • Management of 3rd party vendor resources to ensure data transformation processes are error-free and aligned with the overall business initiatives
  • Drive automation and process enhancement/redesign projects related to ETF client data
  • Build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders and partners within Sales, iShares, technology, and COO teams to ensure the continued success of initiatives
  • Lead the quarterly review & signoff process with virtual teams and regional leaders
  • Offer solutions and support various projects, including automation/standardization efforts and evolution of client holdings business intelligence reporting
  • Analyse and integrate relevant 3rd party data such as Morningstar and Bloomberg
  • Proactively oversee and ensure timely and accurate distribution of all data deliverables

Some of the skills you should have:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Management, Engineering, or Computer Science. An MBA degree from a leading university preferred
  • Experience in managing both a direct team and in managing an external (offshore) vendor team of resources, with the ability to inspire and engage talent
  • 5+ years of work and management experience within a business operations environment, preferably with a financial services firm and basic knowledge of ETFs preferred
  • Strong interest in technology, process improvement and analytics
  • Strong interpersonal skills to establish trust with senior leaders and stakeholders and comfortable in managing relationships across different offices, teams and regions
  • Ability to pivot from business management tasks of initiatives to developing technology solutions to support scaled evolution of processes
  • Proficiency in SQL for querying data and building database tables
  • Knowledge of model/algorithm development and expertise with coding in Python
  • Experience in developing Tableau or PowerBI visualizations and dashboards
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities and meet hard deadlines
  • Attention to detail and quality is essential
