Security Benefit (SB) is seeking a Marketing Communications Specialist to support its Independent Marketing Organization (IMO) and Registered Investment Adviser (RIA) strategic partnerships. Security Benefit fosters strong partnerships to provide insightful and customized retirement solutions for employers and individual investors nationwide. Through a broad advisor network and its nationally recognized money managers, Security Benefit provides mutual funds, annuities and retirement programs. This position will work in our home office in Topeka, Kansas, our Overland Park, Kansas or our Des Moines, Iowa office. SB associates are working in a hybrid environment with both remote and on-site work.

General Accountabilities:

The Marketing Communications Specialist will be responsible for the execution of the marketing initiatives within the Distributor Direct and RIA channels. These channels offer best in class products to elite producers and wealth managers to best prepare their clients for retirement. The Specialist will work with the Director of Marketing - Strategic Partnerships, and the business leadership team to provide marketing content and operational support that enhances sales growth of both commission-based and fee-based annuities and retirement programs. The Marketing Specialist is accountable for the initiation, conception, and execution of marketing campaigns that support the product line and business objectives of the respective channels. This includes accountability for communication, timeline, content, design, resourcing, launch and measurement of marketing initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with business partners to understand the audience(s) in order to contextualize content and narratives for each marketing initiative
  • Create product, operational, and business communications to internal and external stakeholders, financial professionals and their clients
  • Initiate and execute value add content for various audiences
  • Manage marketing plans to provide deliverables on time, within budget and on message to support the sales process within the IMO and RIA channels
  • Work with sales teams, operations teams and external partners to support product launch or product enhancement campaigns
  • Serve as a marketing resource and communicate with internal and external partners on various marketing campaigns and projects
  • Analyze audience, sales and marketing metrics
  • Build compelling PowerPoint presentations
  • Understand the insurance regulatory environment and how it impacts Security Benefit's business and
  • Support additional business needs as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business communications, or related field
  • Minimum of three years of marketing and related work experience
  • Strategic thinker with proven business acumen, common sense, and a highly developed sense of curiosity
  • Proven ability to marketing deliverable skills - from conceptualization, content generation, lead generation, editing, design, production and fulfillment
  • Ability to write and build compelling PowerPoint presentations, sales sheets, brochures, and digital content
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively across organizational levels
  • Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously, including managing timelines, project costs, priorities, and resources
  • Ability to consult, collaborate, negotiate and use personal influence with internal and external stakeholders; and
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)


Preferred

  • Knowledge of the financial services industry, with specific experience in retirement products, annuities and their distribution channels
  • Experience in Workfront or similar project management software
  • Experience with Pardot or other marketing automation software
  • Experience working with Salesforce or other CRM platforms
  • Qlik or other analytics software
