Huddleston & Associates in Greenville, SC is seeking an Investment Specialist / Trader to join our team. This is a unique opportunity for a licensed person to advance their career in the Financial Services industry, or for a novice advisor who doesn't mind taking a step back to gain more security while being afforded the opportunity to enhance their industry experience and potentially return to an advisor role under a proven development path.

Responsibilities

Roles and Responsibilities:

Investment Management / Trading
  • Enter and maintain investment models in financial trading platforms as provided by advisors
  • Run investment / rebalance reports, and prepare materials for advisor review and use in client meetings
  • Execute trades and money movement as directed by advisors, as well as per client requests, and utilize internal tracking system to ensure transactions are executed in a timely manner or to follow up on any issues as needed
  • Prepare client / compliance investment recommendation deliverables for advisor review
  • Document managed account reviews through Ameriprise designated workflow, as well as maintain tracking system for ensuring all reviews are completed within specified timeframes
  • Prepare gain / loss reports, pull dividend information, and track RMD / QCD amounts as may pertain to client accounts
  • Generate Morningstar reports and / or internal Ameriprise reports showing risk / return for current holdings as well as same for alternate recommendations
  • Perform investment research and make recommendations for advisor consideration
  • Participate in internal investment committee review meetings
Client Care / Business Management
  • Facilitate both incoming and outgoing client communications as required and allowed via e-mail, telephone or in person as it relates to servicing their accounts
  • Review and update client risk and / or models in trading systems as needed
  • Attend and participate in client meetings as necessary (not a primary function of the position)
  • Manage and resolve client service problems relating to trading and money movement
  • Review work methods and procedures for quality improvements / efficiencies and implement them as appropriate
  • Act as a technical resource and provide training and support to other practice members
  • Perform other allowable duties as assigned by the advisors

Required Qualifications

  • Must already have active federal and state licenses and registrations for securities, including FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 (Series 63 plus Series 65 acceptable in lieu of Series 66)
  • Already have or be able to study for and pass SC State Life, Accident and Health insurance license
  • College degree or higher
  • 3+ years of applicable experience in the Financial Services industry
  • Experience with Vestmark and / or Thomson One trading systems a plus
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
