The Deferred Compensation Analyst applies deferred compensation knowledge, contributing to the improvement of processes and work-flow for the area.
The individual will evaluate moderately complex and variable issues primarily focused on deferred compensation with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. The individual will require good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Work and performance of the team will be directly affected by the performance of the individual.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the management of the vesting and share delivery of Citi's global stock award programs, including the treatment of awards upon separation from the company.
  • Assist with execution of regulatory compensation processes including 'buyout' process for new joiners
  • Become a subject matter expert in their field and use expertise to run meetings with vendors as well as internal groups such as Finance, Tax, and Payroll.
  • Track and process awards for participants with certain changes in employment status.
  • Conceptualize and work with our global teams to incorporate new equity/deferred comp programs and/or changes within the existing recordkeeping applications.
  • Partners with Payroll, Tax, Legal and Finance to ensure proper reporting of plan activity, and compliance with current legislation.
  • Ensures all processes are completed with accuracy and within required timeframes. Ensure compliance with program provisions and legal and tax regulations. Review and reconcile all data to ensure accuracy.
  • Identify and implement process improvements.
  • Act as subject matter expert on the vesting process for equity compensation initiatives and projects, including the development, testing and implementation of a new equity administration system.
  • Develop and deliver communications to participants and HR related to vesting events. Develop and deliver presentations to Human Resources and Global Equity Coordinators.
  • Provide superior customer service to program participants and Human Resources. Resolve escalated issues for clients.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Skills/Experience:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on MS Excel
  • Ability to meet deadlines while dealing with multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of the regulations impacting FS industry in terms of deferral structures helpful but not essential
  • Has ideally worked in the award and/or vesting process of deferred income
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Tax qualification desirable
