About this role

Business Unit Overview:

The EMEA Client Business represents ~$2,200bn AUM and generates +$4.4bn of annual revenue which translates to 25% of BlackRock's total AUM and 27% of BlackRock's total annual revenue.

The EMEA Client Business consists of ~550 members of staff, covering clients in 19 countries, comprised of Sales & Relationship Management functions, Business Development, Solutions Structuring, Marketing, Governance and Country / Regional Management functions. These functions are supported by a central Core COO function.

The Core COO team works with the functions within the EMEA Client Business and other internal partners (including Compliance, Finance, Risk and technology teams) to deliver a robust business governance platform, manage the region's financials and maximize BlackRock's commercial impact within the EMEA Region.

Department Overview

The Core COO team forms part of the Client COO function and fulfils a crucial role in the effective operation of the EMEA Client Business. The team consists of 37 FTE based in London and Budapest who are accountable for execution in seven key pillars:

  • Business Management & Oversight : Driving governance, resource & financial management, risk management and oversight of sales conduct to support compliant revenue growth
  • Change : Implementation of regulatory, operating model and client projects
  • Sales Training : Developing and delivering a comprehensive client business training programme focused on regulatory change, conduct and product/service updates
  • Sales Content : Manages internal content distribution and supporting technology platforms across the EII, Wealth and Insti businesses in EMEA
  • RFI : Leadership of RFIs across all asset classes for the EMEA iSW businesses as well as supporting DDQs and RFIs relating to EMEA domiciled funds for BLKs broader international businesses
  • Reporting & Automation : Delivery of tactical client reporting in support of client teams and automation of sales processes
  • Business Intelligence : Centralised management of sales management information


The team has a broad remit and works with teams across the region and globe to help the EMEA client business execute on BlackRock's mission. Key partners outside of sales include, Regional Exec, BPI, Legal and Compliance, Tech & Ops, EII, Investments, APG, HR, FP&A and Finance.

Background:

The training manager will partner with Core COO pillar leads and sales leadership to develop and deliver a comprehensive client business training programme focused on regulatory change, conduct and product/service updates. The training manager will ensure changes and updates are supported by playbooks and FAQs that are well understood by client facing teams and the business.

Key responsibilities include:

Ownership of Training Program
  • Own the design, execution and maintenance of the training curriculum including onboarding and role-based training.
  • Understand business and regulatory requirements and ensure training is compliant.
  • Partner with Core COO leads on the delivery of training supporting materials including internal and client communications for regulatory change and sales engagement plans.
  • Work with SMEs to transform materials into learner accessible content whilst maintaining the key messages.
  • Ensure training topics and supporting Playbooks/FAQ and other materials deliver customer focused value messaging and competitor differentiators, aligned with BlackRock's priorities.
  • Manage the training calendar to support CPD and ensure training attendance is tracked and recorded as CPD in Workday.


Internal Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Apply project management skills across all aspects of change training programmes including alignment with business objectives.
  • Partner with Conduct and Sales Reporting COO leads to coordinate and schedule regular and new sales employee training plus annual recertifications (e.g. MIFID suitability refresh).
  • Collaborate with sales leadership for ongoing training needs and feedback to implement into existing programmes and provide monthly update to management.
  • Create a capacity plan for ad-hoc requests around critical hot topics (including a governance/approval process from leadership).


Continuous Improvement
  • Continuously review and evolve training programs, identify gaps, and implement solutions to enhance sales readiness.
  • Partner internally to develop new and evolve existing sales specific content toolkits (such as outreach templates, sales essential decks, videos and other assets, and training materials.
  • Collaborate with the team to research and improve the features and functionality of sales content resources on Sales Library.


Knowledge/Experience:
  • Applicants must demonstrate 5 years' experience in the design and delivery of training courses.
  • Asset management knowledge or experience preferred.
  • Ability to draft training materials, and ideally familiar with instructional design / use of eLearning authoring tools which are disseminated via our Workday Platform.
  • Strong organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail, able to spot issues that others miss, while under pressure and managing a high volume of work
  • Understand business demand/Voice of Customer and ability to translate it into tangible deliverables
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and work collaboratively within a virtual team environment to achieve business and departmental objectives
  • Bachelor's degree

Our hybrid work model
