Application Development / Maintenance (multiple positions) (State Street Bank and Trust Company; Boston, MA): Will serve as senior level developer and project technical lead for projects. The role will be expected to analyze, design, develop, and maintain software applications to support business units, and will control and provide solutions to single and multiple organizations, with minimal management guidance. Specific duties include: providing advanced technical expertise in analyzing, designing, estimating, and developing software applications according to project schedules; overseeing systems design and implementation of most complex design components; creating technical project plans and deliverables and monitoring task deadlines; overseeing, maintaining, and supporting existing software applications; providing technical subject matter expertise in reviewing, analyzing, and resolving complex issues; designing and executing end to end system tests of new installations and software prior to release to minimize failures and impact to business and end users; resolving, communicating, and escalating of critical technical issues; preparing user and systems documentation as needed; identifying and recommending industry best practices; serving as a mentor to junior technical staff; acting as a technical lead and mentor for developers in day to day and overall project areas; leading a team of agile developers; working on complex, deadline-driven projects with minimal supervision; architecting, designing, and developing with minimum requirements by effectively coordinating activities between business analysts, scrum leads, developers and managers; and providing Agile status notes on day to day project tasks. Telecommuting permitted pursuant to company policy.

Minimum requirements: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field; and 5 years of work experience as an architect/design lead or developer.

Must have: Demonstrated experience in the following technologies: Core Java, Java servlets, JSP, Hibernate, Restful Webservices, Tomcat or another J2EE application server, Oracle/Exadata, GitHub, MQ, Perl, Scripting languages, and other opensource technologies; demonstrated experience and knowledge related to ETL functions and as a data modeler designing database schemas; demonstrated experience in full stack software development in both Linux and Windows operating systems; demonstrated understanding of software architecture, design, development, and implementation; demonstrated experience using Scrum, Agile modeling, and adaptive software development; demonstrated experience in continuous integration and build process, test automation, and deployment; and proven written and verbal communication skills.
