We are seeking an adventurous individual to join the SL Engineering Team within Global Securities Lending; one of the world's top Lending Agents.

You should be

  • Excited to be building innovative technology and like performing at the speed of a startup!
  • Someone who considers and visualises future state and designs accordingly. As a senior technologist, you are always thinking about user experience, business analysis or systems design!
  • Someone who loves to mentor and guide your more junior colleagues, many of whom you will have hired.
  • Keen to take ownership of the project, while enjoying the full support, assistance and guidance from the entire group.
  • Striving to deliver business value and selecting the appropriate technology to match that objective.

  • Seeking to deliver quality and attention to detail, be it design, coding or code reviews.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 10+years Java and business systems analysis & design and teasing out requirements.
  • Demonstrable experience working in and running agile development teams / Scrum master.
  • Experience building UI components using latest in web technologies (React, Angular)

  • The desire & experience to lead and set the technical direction alongside an experienced development team.
  • An experienced collaborator, used to working with individuals from diverse business and cultural backgrounds.
  • Strong curiosity about financial markets.

We value if you have

  • Working financial knowledge and/or previous experience in a financial company, in particular Securities Lending.

  • MSc or PhD in Computer Science or related tertiary education
  • Knowledge of Spring, Spring Boot and related technologies
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python
  • Experience with MySQL, Sybase or similar databases
  • Experience with REST APIs

  • Experience with microservices and cloud technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes
