Portfolio Manager

Horizon Investments

Charlotte, North Carolina (US)
Salary

Closing date

Horizon Investments manages a broad range of strategies across global equities and fixed income, including tactical asset allocation portfolios, protection-focused strategies, retirement spending solutions, and factor-based single stock portfolios. The Portfolio Management team is looking for a Portfolio Manager to oversee the implementation of one or more of these portfolios as part of a dynamic, multi-disciplined team. This person should demonstrate a deep understanding of the drivers of returns across and within asset classes, and ideally possess extensive experience managing live investment strategies. The candidate will also contribute research that informs the Investment Management team’s views on a wide range of market-related topics, as well as contribute to active debate around these views within a collegial environment.

A core tenet of Horizon’s investment philosophy is that greater consistency and better outcomes can be achieved by thoughtfully combining quantitative and qualitative investment disciplines. To that end, every strategy that Horizon manages is supported by one or more quantitative processes. The candidate will be responsible for an in-depth understanding of these processes, and will contribute discretionary judgment around process implementation in actual portfolios in order to improve strategy expectations and performance. On-going collaboration with the Quantitative Research team around potential improvements to these processes is crucial to success. Lastly, the candidate will be responsible for all types of support for the strategy, including commentaries, use cases, and the competitor landscape, as well as serving as a representative for the strategy to external and internal stakeholders.

** This is an in-person position in our Charlotte, North Carolina office.
